What is Ottawa County Children Services?

We are the Public Children Services Agency (PSCA) for Ottawa County. We are the agency mandated by law to investigate reports of child abuse and neglect. We may serve as the custodian of children who temporarily cannot remain in their own home (foster care) and also work to find permanent homes for children whose parents’ rights have been terminated (adoption). We provide protective supervision services to assist families to maintain a safe and healthy home for their children.

The goal of Children Services is to ENGAGE families, to SUPPORT them in the provision of safety, permanency, and well being for their children, through a team approach, and family centered practice.

What is Ottawa County Elder Services?

Adult Protective Services (APS) is responsible for investigating reports of alleged abuse, neglect and exploitation of adults over the age of 60, who reside in Ottawa County.

Our Mission Statement

To enhance the lives of elderly citizens, through providing community resources of Ottawa County while maintaining the elder population in the least restrictive environment.

Ottawa County takes referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office answers all calls for Children and Adult Services during all other hours at (419) 734-4404. Children Services has one worker and one supervisor on-call for the hours that the agency is closed.
